Large fluid like bump of my puppy's head

Rate this Entry
Please help! I know all Goldens have a bump on there head, some larger then other but my puppy has a huge one. I just noticed it 2 days ago and didn't realize how large it really was until i gave her a bath. I am taking her to the vets later today, but anyone with any advice would be very helpful. I haven't seen her hit her head to cause any trauma. It feels fluid like, but not skishy. I would say more firm, but not hard enough to be bone. It also doesn't seem to be able to be moved. Whatever it is, it was not here a couple days ago but is very obvisous now.

I can't help you with a medical answer but keep questioning your vet for definite answers. You should not feel rushed when you visit your vet. Write down ALL your questions and don't leave until they are ALL answered. She is such a sweet little girl, so cute. (even with the bump) Please keep us informed as to what the vet tells you. I was sure hoping it was just a boney bump like Jake has on his head and that her head was still growing. I can tell how concerned and frustrated you are, she is your furbaby and you have to do the talking for her. I am looking at her picture as I am typing this and I just want to pet her. Give her a hug from Jake and me, I will say a little prayer for her.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I'm gonna be calling around our town to fine the best vet in the area. One that can do a MRI if need. It definitely is frustrating. The really weird thing is her behavior hasn't changed at all and I didn't see her hit her head at all. We took the dogs to the beach today and she did fine. Maybe we'll magically wake up and it will be gone because the salt water was the cure. Lol that would be great!

It's been a couple of days and thankful the vet was right about the hematome, even though she wasn't sure. It looks alot better and it's less than half the size now.

So glad to hear it is getting better. Evidently she bumped into something when you weren't looking. Who knows where they poke their little heads, especially when they are puppies.
She sure is a sweet looking little girl. You will have to post more pictures of her adventures.
