From my understanding this is a recent trend but there seems to be scientific evidence to support it. I haven’t spoken with my vet about it yet but I plan to next time I see her. What do you think?

When I fed my first two golden retrievers a raw diet, I would skip a meal for them about once a week. When they had an empty stomach, that was when they tended to puke up things kicking around in their stomach that they couldn’t digest: cartilage, bone, hair, plastic, pieces of whatever they ate that they shouldn’t have (for Surf that was a long list).

There was never a bad side effect for them skipping a meal. I don’t think I could do it to my kibble fed Monty. When his stomach is empty, he pukes up bile. Yuck.
