Such a lovely story with a very happy ending Mitch!
I do believe you and the fuzzbutts have been on this site for many years … I recall your postings and terrific stories going back many years (if you are the same Mitch, which I assume you are) I haven’t been on it much over recent years but still check in from time to time to see whats happening and to read the happy tails and see the many pics. Still miss the everchanging pic from the old site. LOL
      Warmest regards

So very very sorry…. no pain can measure up to the pain of losing your beautiful Chet.
I bought a beautiful plaque last year at this time from a small store in Key West when my boy Barclay was very ill and the saying on it brought me comfort … I hope it can do the same for you. “Heaven is the place where all the dogs you’ve ever loved come to greet you” I don’t know if this helps, but it did a bit for me.

My heart goes out to you … I know I miss my Barclay each and every day still since he passed. Often when I am alone I still talk to him like he is there with me (strange but true). These dogs hold such a place in our hearts, a bond that cannot be broken. The only thing that consoles me is the knowledge that he is still with me in my heart & soul and that one day we will be reunited. I bought a plaque in Key West last fall that said “Heaven is the place where all the animal’s you’ve ever loved come to greet you” Truer words were never spoken!

Ah yes, they grow up far too quickly. I do remember my Cooper (aka Hoover) eating everything on the sidewalk and so quickly that you hardly saw him grab it. I guess with time I have learned to scan at least 4 to 6t feet in front of me while walking, so I have been trained. Enjoy the puppy years, they go by so fast! I know I plan to enjoy every minute of my new little one.

So exciting, I share your joy because I too have chosen my new pup. Amazingly he will also be called Finnegan, I actually thought we were choosing something a bit different… go figure eh? We get our pup next weekend so am so excited and apprehenisve all at once. Introducing him to our current dog Cooper is the apprehension I am feeling, but I will take it slow and I am sure that before long they will be best buds.

      Congrats on your new addition!

My daughter just moved into her first apartment and I am AMAZED how many dog owners there are in the building. Alll sized dogs too!!!
It just means that the owner has to be very dedicated and responsible and ensure the dog gets taken out for regular walks and toileting …. I never considered having a dog in an apartment before, but after seeing this … I think it is totally manageable. So … like you said, a poor excuse for giving up a beloved family member!

      Good Morning,
I feed Cooper approx 1 1/4 cup twice a day of Fromms Senior. Hubby insists on allowing after dinner plate cleaning (which usually is not much actual food, just an exercise of the tongue) Cooper is a bit heavy however and I do think he should be cut back but dear husband feels we would be starving him. This is an ongoing feud in my house LOL

I try and keep the treats to a minimum and use carrots or other veggies instead. Cooper will eat ANYTHING!!!!

Welcome to this great forum. I had two goldens (Barclay & Cooper), however lost my beautiful Barclay to cancer in December. Thank goodness we still have our Cooper who is now 8 now and keeps me smiling!

Cooper snorts (a lot) when we get home and he has his stuffed baby in his mouth. I have also noticed if he finds a REALLY good smell when we are walking that he makes a kinda snorty sound when I try and pull him away from it. I often wondered about him as well and if this was “normal”
